Wedding Officiant for a Day Part 5

The rehearsal is an important aspect of your wedding day. I really feel that the wedding begins at the rehearsal. It is a great time to diffuse nervous energy. It offers you an opportunity to discuss and handle any last minute issues and tensions in any relationships.

When I lead a rehearsal, we do not actually go through the ceremony, just the walk through, in and out and any other specific logistics. I suggest the order of the processional and recessional and make recommendations about any other issues. If you are having someone who does not know how to order the processional and recessional it is good to have someone attend the rehearsal who does.

The bottom line is that there is a lot more to officiating a ceremony than you might imagine. I encourage you to take the time to do some footwork before you make your decision. First, meet with some professionals so you can get some ideas about what to look for. If you do decide to have a friend, encourage you to take these points that I have mentioned into consideration.
